Symantec Offers Award-Winning Internet Security With Intel Desktop Boards

Integration Offers Online Protection and Security Features for Consumers' Home Office and Small Business Environments

CUPERTINO, Calif. - Aug. 21, 2000 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), a world leader in Internet security, today announced that Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC), the leader in desktop PC technology, has chosen Norton Internet Security Family Edition to ship with selected Intel Desktop Boards. The combination of Symantec's award-winning security software with the performance and quality of Intel Desktop Boards provides a solid foundation with superior Internet protection for the consumers' home office and small business environments.

Selected Intel Desktop Boards will begin shipping with Norton Internet Security and 90 days of free subscription updates starting in September. After the 90-day period is over, the customer may choose to renew their subscription updates directly from Symantec.
